Owner and Founder – Irina Siegel
It’s Irina’s philosophy that clothing should be designed for real people with real bodies, unlike mass produced clothes which need alterations to fit well. She believes that having fewer clothes, made from natural fibers that have been used for centuries, like linen, cotton, and wool, is a more sustainable way to dress. Irina’s European heritage inspires her strong aesthetic for simple, elegant, well-made clothing that along with her thoughtful, fun details make Cloth Factor styles both classic and charming.
Irina was born in Belarus and started sewing at a young age, learning the craft from her older sister Tamara, a professional seamstress. Irina’s sewing skills became proficient while she was an opera student at Moscow Conservatory and made both her costumes and her own clothes. After moving to America in 1992, Irina continued sewing, mainly doing alterations to the ready-to-wear clothes that rarely fit her petite height. More recently, creating costumes for drama students at her daughter’s school reignited her desire to design new clothes.
Cloth Factor was established in 2017 as the result of this lifelong passion for textiles, fashion, and clothing design. Irina understands the joy of having clothes that are both elegant and fit well. Together with her highly skilled staff, it’s Cloth Factor’s mission to bring that joy to you.
